STEM TEAM Cambridgeshire, funded by the LSC and Cambridgeshire and Peterborough Local Authorities supports the 14-19 programme for schools and colleges. We offer Work Related Learning, Information, Advice and Guidance, Employer Engagment and input into the Construction and the Built Environment and Engineering Diplomas. We run an Annual Science and Technology Fair at IWM Duxford and mangage the major STEM enrichment schemes for the British Science Association and the Nuffield Foundation. We are your first port of call for the First Lego League, Nuffield Science Bursaries, CREST Awards, GO4SET, Big Bang Events and many other local STEM providers. We also offer our own STEM challenge activities which we bring into schools supported by STEM Ambassadors.

Our News - The Big Bang Eastern
big bang east logo We're really pleased to announce that we, along with STEM TEAM Essex and SETPOINT Hertfordshire, have been awarded the contract to hold The Big Bang Eastern. This regional Science Fair will be held at Duxford Imperial War Museum on Friday 16th July. It celebrates students' achievements in science, technology, engineering and maths and work undertaken as part of the British Science Association CREST Award Scheme and Young Engineers. Our guest speaker will be Lucy Hawking, jounalist and author of George's Secret Key to the Universe which she wrote with her father, Professor Stephen Hawking. We also have an interative science presentation by The Naked Scientists and hands-on activities related to The Big Bang. This fantastic event is open to pupils from 9-18 years old in the Eastern Region and is likely to be oversubscribed. Have a look at our flyer and register online now!

STEM TEAM Duxford 10th June 2010
Working in partnership with Imperial War Museum Duxford Department for Learning, STEM TEAM Cambridgeshire run an Annual Science and Technology Fair. This is a great opportunity for pupils to work with STEM Ambassadors and learn in a stimulating environment.

The Rotary Technology Tournament Tuesday 9th February 2010
rotaryThe Cambridge Rotary Club, with the support of STEM TEAM Cambridgeshire, are organising a one day Technology Tournament as part of the National Rotary Technology Tournament. This challenge is open to all schools in the Cambridge area and will be held on Tuesday 9th February 2010. Teams of four pupils between 13 and 14 years old will be given a previously unseen technology challenge to solve. They are then given time to analyse, plan, create, construct, test and demonstrate their solution to a panel of judges. The challenge enhances the curriculum and develops teamwork and communication skills. Prizes will be awarded in a number of cateogories and students will be eligible to apply for a British Science Association Bronze CREST Award.

STEM TEAM Cambridgeshire manages the British Science Association CREST Scheme for Cambridgeshire. CREST (Creativity in Science and Technology) is the national award scheme for Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths. Through CREST, young people aged 11-19 explore the real nature of STEM by doing their own creative project work.

The Nuffield Science Bursary Scheme
Nuffield Science BursaryNuffield Science Bursaries give first year post-16 STEM students the opportunity to work in leading scientific industries, research institutes and UK Universities during their summer holidays working alongside practising STEM professionals. The projects typically last between 4-6 weeks. These bursaries are a great opportunity for really motivated students to find out more about STEM careers. STEM TEAM Cambridgeshire manages the Nuffield Science Bursary Scheme for Cambridgeshire, Suffolk and Essex.
